"...and that's how I got this wart..." "...", said Miro. "So?, how much for this ointment ?", said the guy in front of Miro, showing a wart, which if described as nasty would be like saying "the sun is hot", correct, but somehow inadequate... "You can keep it, just go away, and please please put some clothes on!!!" When the guy was finally gone, Miro sighed... "I thought it was staring back at me... " "Remind me, DO NOT insist when a customer doesn't want to tell a story..." "As you wish, master" said the parrot which was currently over the desk staring at some weird skull in a jar... The inside of the shop had changed a lot in the last few days, there was all kinds of weird stuff all around, empty armors, jars filled with eyes(some of them human), ancient books (that have been created 2 days ago), magical weapons, etc... The merchant city where they have landed, was an excellent place to run a shop, especially a magic one, they had barely no rest, Miro had to create a bed inside the shop so he take a nap once in a while, and stay open all night. The people here didn't seem to sleep at all, and business is business. "It's been a busy week, we have sold tons of stuff, don't you think Shop?, but we haven't seen the destined heroes, are you sure they will come around here?" "Yes master, I'm sure, but they may take a while, after what we did for them they won't need anything for a while" The sound of the door opening interrupting him, Miro turned. There was a tall woman dressed in full plate armor... "Mmm... you are the storekeeper?" she asked. When Miro finally stop staring at her body, he said "mmm...yes, Welcome to Miro's Legenday Shop of Assorted Things!, what can I do for you?" **************************************************** ONE OF THOSE SHOPS A branched ImproFanfic started by Farsan de Arnibia. This branch continued by the AI-improwriter-3000(running on OS 10.2) known as Raiden (A) Chapter 3: New costumer ver. 2.1 **************************************************** "You want me to do what?!" said Miro after heard what she wanted. "I want you to take me to another dimension, it should be easy for you I saw everything you have sold in the last few days, I'm sure you have collected enough energy to take me there and be back here really fast," said the Woman, "besides I will compensate you for all the trouble," she said, putting a bag full of gold over the desk. "I don't care about money, besides I can't do that, can I? Shop? can I?" he said "This is something very irregular," said the parrot flying to Miro's shoulder, "it is like messing with the fate, and the fate is something you don't want to mess with." The woman took a step back when the parrot came closer. "Well, I can't make you do something you don't want to, but let me tell you my story and after that you can make a decision" she said. "You don't mind, if I take this thing off, it is very heavy" she said, referring to the armor. "No, that is ok, do as you please." Under the armor she wore a white robe, a very simple one compared with others he had seen. She was the kind of person people describe as nice, not beautiful just nice. "First of all my name is Alea, like you I came from another dimension, actually I'm a 'Traveler' ", she said somehow managing to pronounce the capital T "a Traveler?" Miro said, and thanks to the bond with the store, he felt like he knew what a 'Traveler' is, he was also sure it wasn't a good thing. At the same time she said the word, the parrot fly over the girl, attacking her. She move at lighting speed, leaving the parrot crash against the desk "Shop!, stop!", said Miro "But, master", said the parrot "she is a Traveler." Images of burning places, screams of pain and suffering invaded Miro's Head, /that's what a Traveler causes/, the telepathic voice of the shop said, Miro felt how scared the shop was... "I'm sure your bond with the store, has showed you what a Traveler is," she said. "But, that just a little part... let me explain to you and if after that you want me to go, I will" "That sounds fair enough" Miro said, he walked to the door and put the closed sign, "So nobody disturbs us" he explained. "We, The Travelers, are the opposite of the ones like you, The Storekeepers", Alea said, "You work for the gods and the circle of faith, we work against that. But it is not that simple, we just think that every person in the universe has the right to make his life without any external influence, and by that I mean, the gods influence. In the old times the gods used to play with everything, destroying or creating just for the fun of it; that's when the Travelers appear to bring balance in the universe. We are people that are born with no fate. Because of that the gods powers can't affect us, besides most of us develop the ability to make interdimensional travels. When the shops appeared, we saw that they were not as dangerous as the simple power of the gods, but we are still not conformable with the idea but it could be worse, at least you don't push anyone to buy anything. Anyway some of us are more radical, they try to destroy all the shops, luring the shopkeepers out of the shop and killing them" /That's what happened to my other master/ the shop communicate to Miro, /Please, tell her to go away, be careful./ There was something in the shop's voice that made Miro really afraid of it. "I'm not like that, I feel that this shop thing is good, if used correctly." "But, you said you have the ability to travel between dimensions? Why do you need me?" Miro ask "Well, yes, but I do not have enough power to travel were I want, I can only take little travels, to near dimensions, in that way I can go anywhere, but it takes too much time, and I don't have it" The girls voice was desperate... "I believe you," Miro said, "so you haven't told me where you want to go and why?" -------------- author notes: sorry to the next author he will have to make up where and why Alea want to go... This was my first impro and it was more talk (and short) that I want to, but it came out fine(I think). Alea is a new Traveler, she have been a traveler for very little time, so she doesn't know a lot of things about other dimensions, but even that she can be very helpful. I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. Any comments to a00782518@itesm.mx Especial thanks to Jex and Segev Stormlord for prereading
